Surf trip from Essaouira to Imsouane — The Bay.
Imsouane is a small fishing village 80 km south of Essaouira, home to one of the longest right-hand point breaks in Africa. On a clean day, the wave at The Bay can run for over a kilometer — long enough that surfers ride one wave back to the lineup on foot. The Cathedral, the second wave just up the cliff, is more powerful and reserved for stronger surfers.
— The Bay and the Cathedral
Two waves, two vibes.
The Bay is the famous mellow wave that draws surfers from all over the world. It breaks slowly, peeling along a curving rocky point, perfect for longboards and learning to ride a real wave for a long time. The Cathedral, just up the road, is a faster, hollower right that needs solid intermediate skills and a shortboard. We pick the spot based on your level and the conditions.

— Skill requirements
Skill needed for Imsouane.
The Bay is forgiving and works for beginners who have taken several lessons, all the way to expert longboarders. The Cathedral is for confirmed intermediate to advanced surfers only — we do not take beginners there. If you have never surfed a point break or have only practiced on a foam board, we will keep you at The Bay and you will love it.
