March to May: the ideal season to learn

The wind builds gradually, 12 to 18 knots. Fewer crowds, gentler rates: this is the period we recommend to learn kitesurf.

June to August: the high season

18 to 25 knots almost daily, water at 20–22°C. The most reliable period to ride. Diabat offers steadier wind, Moulay Bouzerktoun chop for advanced riders.

September to October: the sweet spot

15 to 20 knots, fewer tourists, and the best sunsets of the year. A safe bet for relaxed riding.

November to February: surf season

The wind eases and the Atlantic swell comes in. This is surf season in Essaouira: Sidi Kaouki and Cap Sim take over. We cover them in our surf spots in Essaouira.
